Farever Beginner Guide: 10 Tips Before You Start

📅 Updated May 7, 2026 ⏱ 10 min read 🏷 Beginner, Tips, Progression

Farever just launched into Early Access on May 6, 2026, and players are flooding into the world of Siagarta. As a brand-new open-world co-op ARPG from Shiro Games (the creators of Wartales and Northgard), Farever blends action combat with deep build crafting — but it doesn't hold your hand.

This guide covers everything you need to know before you start your adventure. Let's dive in.

1. Choose the Right Class for Your Playstyle

Farever launches with 4 classes, each with unique resource mechanics and playstyles:

Class Tier Resource Best For
Warrior S Rage Beginners, front-line fighters, solo play
Rogue S Combo Points DPS lovers, poison builds, mobile gameplay
Mage A Spark Ranged DPS, AoE farming, magic fans
Cleric A Rosary/Prayers Support, group play, healing
💡 Tip: If you're playing solo, Warrior or Rogue are your best bets. Warrior offers great survivability, while Rogue provides the highest damage output. Mage is fantastic for groups. Cleric shines in co-op but can be slower solo.

2. Weapons Define Your Build — Not Your Class

Unlike traditional RPGs, your weapons determine roughly half your abilities in Farever. Each weapon has 4 unique skills that level up as you use them. A Warrior wielding a staff can cast magic spells. A Mage with a dagger can stab and dodge.

At level 7, you unlock the Arsenal system, which lets you equip a secondary weapon and borrow one of its skills. This opens up huge build flexibility — experiment freely!

3. Don't Skip the Tutorial Area

The starting area teaches you the core mechanics: dodging, blocking, resource management, and weapon skills. Complete all tutorial quests before venturing into the open world. You'll unlock your Arsenal system faster and get essential starter gear.

4. Salvage Everything at Spark Recyclers

One of the most common beginner mistakes is deleting old gear. Instead, take it to a Spark Recycler (found in towns and hubs) to break it down into upgrade materials. These materials are essential for crafting and upgrading your weapons and armor throughout the game.

5. Learn Your Class Resource System

Each class has a unique resource that fuels your skills. Understanding it is the key to effective gameplay:

  • Warrior (Rage): Build Rage through basic attacks, spend it on powerful weapon skills. Core ability: Raging Smash (150% damage, knockback, costs 10 Rage).
  • Rogue (Combo Points): Rotate different attacks to build Combo Points, then spend them on Finisher (+45% damage per Combo Point).
  • Mage (Spark): Keep Spark above the Flow threshold for Conduit bonuses. Use Spark Beam to regenerate Spark.
  • Cleric (Rosary/Prayers): Accumulate Prayers (Smite, Life, Virtue), then release them with Judgement.

6. Invest in Your Codex

Farever's Codex system grants bonus XP for killing enough of each enemy type. Check your Codex regularly to see which enemies you should hunt for bonus experience. This is one of the fastest ways to level up in the early game.

7. Play with Friends for Faster Progression

Farever supports up to 4-player co-op with dynamic difficulty scaling. The game adjusts enemy health and damage based on your party size, but the rewards scale favorably — more players = faster kills + more loot. Even if you prefer solo play, teaming up for dungeons is highly recommended.

8. Don't Ignore Your Talents

Talents unlock at level 10 and provide powerful passive bonuses. Each class has a unique talent tree with specializations. For example:

  • Warrior: Hemorrhage (bleed stacking), Bloodfeast (heal on bleed), Second Wind (death prevention)
  • Rogue: Lethal Poison (poison stacking), Cheat Death (survivability), Envenom (damage)
  • Mage: Conduit upgrades (extra projectiles), Mystic Empowerment (party buffs)
  • Cleric: Prayer enhancements, group healing buffs, shield upgrades

9. Explore Everything — Verticality Matters

Siagarta is built for vertical exploration. You can climb cliffs, glide across valleys, and dive into underwater caves. Many secret areas, treasure caches, and rare materials are tucked away in hard-to-reach places. If you see something interesting in the distance, go check it out.

10. Check Your Runes!

Runes modify your class skills and can dramatically change how they work. Many players miss this system entirely in their first few hours. Open your skill menu and equip Runes manually — they're not auto-equipped. Experiment with different Rune combinations to find synergies with your weapon choices.
